Tiger Woods Swing Comparison

After a successful year in 2013 where Tiger Woods was named Player of the Year, regained the World Number 1 ranking and won five times, his following season in 2014 was riddled with injury and saw him fail to earn a victory and drop to 32nd in the World Rankings. Woods underwent microdiscectomy surgery and although he fought very hard to return to competitive golf, he failed to make the cut at the PGA Championship, took himself out of consideration for the Ryder Cup, split with coach Sean Foley and focused his energy into full rehabilitation.

Tiger Woods Hero World Challenge 2014

Over the past couple of months out of competition, Woods has strengthened his back and hired a new swing consultant in Chris Como. During the 2014 Hero World Challenge, he returned to competitive golf and we got our first look at his “new, but old” golf swing. With Como, Woods analyzed his golf swing from his days as an amateur and really brought his swing back to the basics. In the video above, we got a comparison look at Tiger Woods’ swing from the 2013 Hero World Challenge and the 2014 Hero World Challenge.

Tiger Woods Hero World Challenge 2014

Although the full swing looks smooth, it’s his short game that needs to be sharpened. During his week at the Hero World Challenge, we saw Woods hit some of the worse chip shots and short game shots of his career. This can only improve though and hopefully, we see Tiger peak at the right times in the upcoming 2015 season. With full health and rehabilitation complete, Woods hopes to play a full schedule in 2015 (roughly 16 – 18 events) – hopefully, we’ll see him breakthrough his Major championship drought!

We had the opportunity to watch Tiger Woods at the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool and are excited to watch him tee it up at the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay Golf Course! What are your predictions for Tiger Woods’ 2015 season?
