The Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus, is truly an icon in the sport of golf. Having won 18 Major Championships, Jack Nicklaus has set the benchmark for the pinnacle of excellence in the sport and a goal that Tiger Woods has aimed to surpass in his career. However, Jack has also been a course designer, even in his playing days and Bloomberg’s Shelby Holliday caught up with the living legend in Cabo San Lucas to discuss golf course design among other topics!
In 1992, Jack Nicklaus designed Palmilla, the first golf course in Los Cabos. It is now one of seven Nicklaus designed golf course in the area and Jack may have impacted the entire economy of Los Cabos in the process!
Although growth of golf in the region has been relatively healthy in the region, the same cannot be said in other parts of the world and Jack gives his thoughts on the state of the game while speaking with Bloomberg’s Shelby Holliday. He also touches on ways on how to attract new players to the game while we also find out other methods that Jack utilizes to stay invested in the game he loves!
