Rory McIlroy had one amazing 2014 season. Although he started the season with a bit of inconsistency, particularly during his second rounds, he definitely got his game together for a summer of dominance. He started with a win at the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship, followed by his first Claret Jug at Royal Liverpool Golf Club for the Open Championship, a win at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and a win at the PGA Championship. He was also in the race for the FedEx Cup until the final round of the Tour Championship. Top of the year with a European Ryder Cup victory and being named 2014 Player of the Year and it’s definitely been a dream season!
But behind the scenes was the Nike Golf team, working with Rory to create the best equipment possible for him to help him succeed. Nike is known to collaborate with their athletes – recently, Rory has given his feedback on the new Lunar Control 3 golf shoe, Vapor irons and Vapor metalwoods.
