This week, some of the best players in the world will be teeing it up in Dubai for the DP World Tour Championship. This is the final tournament in the season long Race To Dubai, similar to the PGA TOUR’s FedEx Cup playoffs and TOUR Championship.
Although this is the last tournament in the Race To Dubai, the champion has already been mathematically decided. Rory McIlroy, with his monster of a summer, has a nearly 2.5 million point lead over second place in the Race To Dubai standings, clinching the top spot last week after the Turkish Airlines Open despite not playing in the tournament. His victories at the BMW PGA Championship, The Open Championship, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the >PGA Championship were just too much for anyone else to catch him in the standings. This makes him the youngest ever to win the Race To Dubai title multiple times.
We’ve seen some amazing golf and golf shots during this tournament over the past couple of years on the 18th hole though. This includes Rory McIlroy’s winning putt on the 72nd hole to capture his first Race To Dubai title, Justin Rose’s amazing lag putt as well as Henrik Stenson’s 3-wood last year from 248 yards to cap his amazing 2013-2014 season. In the video above, join Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson as they return to the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates to challenge each other to the famous shots they hit there. Take a look!
