This past week, the LPGA Tour traveled to Mexico City for the 2014 Lorena Ochoa Invitational at Club de Golf México. This was the seventh year for the event but it just may be the most memorable as Christina Kim, who had not won for 9 years, finally broke through to earn her third LPGA title!
Christina’s struggle in golf has been well documented as her injuries were later compounded by bouts of depression. Despite these obstables, Christina stayed strong and overcame her hardships to finally win on the LPGA Tour once again! It was not without challenge though as ShanShan Feng of China managed to forced a playoff with Christina before she prevailed in the second playoff hole! Christina Kim is notorious for her on-course reactions and it was pure joy when she won the tournament. Congratulations, Christina and we hope to see many more victories ahead of you!
