Golf in Turkey is definitely getting more popular as the years go on. This week, the European Tour hosts the third event of their Final Series in Turkey at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Course for the Turkish Airlines Open where many of the world’s best are competing towards the Race To Dubai. Last year, we even saw Tiger Woods compete in Turkey while connecting the continents of Asia and Europe by hitting golf balls across the Bosphorus Bridge. There was even a laser show competition between Martin Kaymer and Matteo Manassero!
This year, the laser show competition continued between Martin Kaymer and defending champion Victor Dubuisson, but perhaps more impressive was the trio of Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson and Sergio Garcia teeing up some golf balls in the Aspendos Amphitheatre – the Amphitheatre was built in 155 AD and is over 2000 years old, providing seating for more than 7,000 spectators.
