Cobra Golf: Fly-Z Driver

After the successful launch of the Cobra BiO Cell driver last year, Cobra is at it again with the launch of the Fly-Z driver line. Cobra’s new Fly-Z Family of golf clubs focuses on the unique approach of weight placement and this is very apparent in their new drivers!

There are three models for the Fly-Z drivers, the Fly-Z+, Fly-Z and the Fly-Z XL. The Fly-Z+ driver is aimed at players from Tour Pros to 15-handicappers. It features the revolutionary FlipZone technology, which is a 15-gram weight in the sole that can be adjusted to deliver two unique ball flights. Multi-material construction that optimizes weight distribution as well as carbon fiber zones also enables the driver to have a lower centre of gravity.

And just like the Titleist 915 driver and the Nike Vapor driver, the Fly-Z will also have a Speed Channel in order to generate faster ball speeds. Two other features on the drivers are the MyFly8 and SmartPad technologies. These two features allow golfers to have an option of eight different lofts and trajectory settings that range from 9- to 12-degrees.

Unlike the Fly-Z+, the standard Fly-Z driver is designed with a fixed, low and back CG location. It produces mid-high launch angles and targets the 5-25 handicap golfer. The last and final model is the Fly-Z XL, which is aimed 15-40 handicappers and features a draw-biased ball flight. As with all Cobra drivers, all three models will come in a variety of colour so there will be something for everyone! However, these drivers will have different launch dates, with the Fly-Z XL ($279) available on November 14, 2014, the standard Fly-Z driver ($329) on January 23, 2015 and the Fly-Z+ ($399) available on February 1, 2015.
