For the second straight year, Ryan Moore has begun his PGA TOUR season with a win at the CIMB Classic at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia. Moore shot a 5-under 67 for a three-stroke win, beating fellow American Gary Woodland for the second straight year, including a shot to one-feet for birdie on the 71st hole (see below!). He finished at 17-under par (not quite Eighteen Under Par!) to become the first player to defend a title on the PGA TOUR since Tiger Woods at the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational, earning his fourth PGA TOUR victory.
For a while, it seemed like Sergio Garcia would finally join the winner’s circle in 2014 on the PGA TOUR (he did win the Qatar Masters though, an European Tour event). His game has improved dramatically include his ball striking and strokes gained putting. He started the final round in the same group as Ryan Moore just one shot behind, but a costly double bogey at the par-5 10th hole was too much to overcome. He would finish in a tie for second place at 14-under par. Take a look at the highlights of the tournament above!
