There were two tournaments on the schedule this past week on the European Tour. One was the Hong Kong Open, won by Australian Scott Hend while the other tournament, the 2014 Volvo World Match Play Championship was played at the London Golf Club at Ash, Kent, England.
Heading into the tournament, the fifth ranked player in the world Henrik Stenson was the number one seed. In Sunday’s final match, he faced Finland’s Mikko Ilonen and despite difficult conditions due to the wind, Mikko pulled out the upset victory and won the match 3 and 1! This was certainly unexpected but it gave fans a thrilling final day in the 50th anniversary edition of the Volvo World Match Play Championships!
