The 2014 PGA Grand Slam of Golf was held at Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda and hosted the the 2014 Major Champions. Bubba Watson (The Masters), Martin Kaymer (US Open), Rory McIlroy (Open Championship, PGA Championship) and Jim Furyk (Alternate & former Champion) dueled over 36 holes, competing for the Pink Jacket. Last year, we saw Adam Scott win the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and playing some amazing golf in Australia, nearly completing the Aussie Triple Crown.
This year, it was an exciting finish as the PGA Grand Slam of Golf went into a playoff between US Open Champion Martin Kaymer and Masters Champion Bubba Watson. You could have looked at this as a rematch from Sunday Singles at Gleneagles for the Ryder Cup, where Kaymer would win 4&2. It would only take one playoff hole to determine the winner though, as Kaymer would make his birdie putt while Bubba just missed. Kaymer has definitely had one amazing year winning The Players Championship, the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2, another Ryder Cup and now, the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Hopefully, we’ll see him atop the leaderboards more often in the new year!
World number 1 and Player of the Year Rory McIlroy would finish the tournament at 2-over par, with a final round 75. It was, however, highlighted by this amazing par at the par-5 17th hole – take a look below!
