On a day where Taylormade Golf made a big splash with the launch of their RSi line of irons, Titleist’s master craftman for putters, Scotty Cameron also launched their new Futura X5 putters! There will be three versions of the Futura X5 putter, the standard X5, the X5R and the X5 Dual Balance.
The main feature of the new line of Futura X5 putter is its multi-material construction, with the putters milled from 303 stainless steel and a sole plate using 6061 aluminum. With the usage of new materials as well as a new modern design, Scotty Cameron was able to redistribute the weight into the wings of the putter and as a result, develop a high-MOI performance putter!
Not overlooking the smallest of details, the sound at impact was also enhanced by a thicker topline and face, which was made possible because of the weight redistribution. The Futura X5 putters will be available on October 31, with the Futura X5 and Futura X5R costing $349 while the Futura X5 Dual Balance will cost $399.
