World number 1 Rory McIlroy had himself a great year this past season, winning two Major Championships and a WGC event en route to his second Player of the Year award in three years. Last week, he returned to the Old Course at St. Andrews for the Dunhill Links Championship where Cara Robinson of Golfing World caught up with him on the 14th hole. As you can see in the video, Rory teed off using the new Nike Vapor Pro driver.
The Dunhill Links Championship at the Home of Golf was where it all started for Rory. In 2007, Rory earned his European Tour card at the age of 18 when he finished in third place. Seven years later, Rory is now 25 years old with an impressive resume of 4 Major Championships, 3-time Ryder Cup winner and the current world number 1 golfer in the world! Have a listen as Cara Robinson walks the course with Rory McIlroy at St. Andrews. Rory’s dad, Gerry makes a cameo as well!
