FootJoy arguably creates the number one shoe in golf and some of the most comfortable in the sport. This year, we’ve already seen FootJoy release the City Line as well as the awesome FootJoy DNA. Earlier in the week, we got a preview of the reinvented FootJoy Contour Series collection of footwear and in this post, we’ll go through more of the details about the construction of the shoe.
Firstly, new UltraSof full grain leather is used in the upper of the shoe and is lighter, softer, thinner, but stronger than previous materials used. The heel features strategically placed SofCollar foam which adds extra comfort and superior fit. A redesigned Sport Tongue isn’t just lighter, but is also more breathable to help keep your feet dry. Lastly, the Saddle of the shoe gives the Contour Series a casual, yet traditional golf look.
On the inside, a new ergonomic Contoured Fit-Bed provides cushioning and support which accommodating all shapes of feet. Underneath that, a new, lightweight EVA blended midsole is lighter and softer for out-of-the-box comfort that will not compress or harden over time. And similar to other athletic shoes, a redesigned TPU Stability Bridge provides midfoot stability and arch support in any terrain. The new FootJoy Contour Series is 12% lighter and 9% more flexible than the previous model – definitely one of the most comfortable shoes in golf!
