Victor Dubuisson has had a lot of success on the European Tour the past couple of seasons, winning his first title at the 2013 Turkish Airlines Open in November. Golf fans in North America probably didn’t know too much about this young Frenchman until the Accenture World Matchplay Championships where he went head-to-head with Jason Day and produced two magnificent recovery shots from the cacti. More strong play early in 2014 made him a lock for the 2014 European Ryder Cup Team as a rookie.
He was partnered with seasoned Ryder Cup veteran Graeme McDowell throughout the week, which made for a very strong partnership. McDowell himself said that Dubuisson will be a rising star in the world of golf over the next couple of years and that Dubuisson is the best player he’s played with since Rory McIlroy – that’s really saying something! In his rookie debut at the Ryder Cup, Dubuisson went 2-0-1. We’ve already featured one player profile of the Frenchman, but in the video above, Golfing World catches up with Dubuisson in France ahead of his debut Ryder Cup appearance for Team Europe at Gleneagles. Perhaps his involvement will grow the sport of golf in France, a country which will host the 2018 Ryder Cup!
