We had a chance to find out more about Chris Kirk during his interview with Harry Arnett on Callaway Talks. Earlier this year, he would win the McGladrey Classic during the PGA TOUR’s wrap around season and today, he would win again at the Deutsche Bank Champinoship (his third career victory) at TPC Boston.
Kirk shot a flawless 5-under round of 66, finishing the tournament at 15-under par. During the past two days, he was paired with World Number 1, Rory McIlroy and definitely had a huge crowd following him – and he would feed off this energy! He held off the likes of Rory McIlroy, Russell Henley, Jason Day and Billy Horschel for this victory and sits atop the FedEx Cup standings entering week three of the playoffs at the BMW Championship. With this win, he’s earned a spot in the season-ending TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola, where he’ll have a chance to play for $10 million and his first FedEx Cup title – and maybe even catch the attention of Ryder Cup captain, Tom Watson!
