The year 2014 may be best remembered for the strong summer that Rory McIlroy is having, after three straight victories including the Open Championship and the PGA Championship. However, 2014 is also the year where we saw the reemergence of Martin Kaymer! Martin won his first Major championship in 2010 but his struggles started soon after, succumbing to the pressure of being ranked number one in the world.
Ahead of the 2011 Masters, Martin tinkered with his swing, trying to move the ball from right to left to conquer Amen’s Corner. Struggle and a lack of confidence followed and it’s been a long road for Martin before he regained his confidence and finally achieved success, winning the 2014 Players and the US Open at Pinehurst No.2 this year! In this Golfing World’s segment of “Inside the Game,” Martin reflects back on his journey and the success he achieved this season!
