Nike is a company that prides itself in its innovative culture and its golf division has surely come a long way. From the RZN golf ball to the VR X3X toe sweep wedge, Nike Golf has developed many products that are pushing the limits. Recently, Nike also opened a new Performance Fitting Center at Archerfield in Edinburgh, Scotland and released a limited edition of the MM Proto Irons, developed collaboratively by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and the engineers at The Oven, Nike Golf’s R&D Facility and Tour Shop.
This evening, Nike Golf released the new Nike Vapor irons family in an event near New York City. The faces of Nike Golf, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, were in attendance along with the host of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon! The new family of Vapor irons was developed from the insights of Tiger and Rory and eventually led to the development of the Modern Muscle technology.
Modern Muscle technology is “a modification of a standard muscle-back design that moves the iron’s center of gravity to the center of the clubface, crafted to yield more efficient and pure strikes.” The Nike Vapor irons will be available in Vapor Pro, Vapor Pro Combo and the Vapor Speed. All these irons will incorporate the innovation and design of the Modern Muscle Technology. With Rory victorious at the Open Championship with a prototype Vapor Pro Combo 2-iron (MM Proto) in the bag, we will certainly see more of this proven technology in the golfers’ bags everywhere!
