Rory McIlroy has had one amazing summer so far. He’s played some great golf in stretches throughout 2014, first winning the BMW PGA Championship on the European Tour at Wentworth Golf Club and having a close call at the Honda Classic. It wasn’t until early July at The Open Championship where we saw Rory put it all together and have the consistency over four days.
Since winning The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, he’s won in his next two starts as well at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and his fourth Major championship, the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club.
It is well known that Rory is a die hard Manchester United fan – he even gave a shout out to them during his winning speech at The Open Championship in Liverpool (and even got boo’d!). To honor such a dedicated fan and season ticket holder, Manchester United invited Rory to the pitch of Old Stafford and also to talk about his summer so far.
