Sergio Garcia has been on the golfing radar since the age of 19 years old, when he finished second to Tiger Woods at the 1999 PGA Championship. Since then, he has been 0-for-63 in Majors and has had his ups and downs throughout his career. Some stability in his life now on and off the course may prove to be the turning point. His new, fresh outlook on life is more positive than previous years with a “glass half full” philosophy, which seems to be translating to his game.
The past couple of weeks, he’s finished T2 at The Open Championship and also second at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. He contended early at the PGA Championship, but the wet weather got the best of him. His game is in sharp form though and hopefully it continues into the rest of the year with the FedEx Cup and Ryder Cup approaching soon. If he is consistent enough, don’t be surprised to see Sergio contending in more Majors in 2015, and maybe even breaking through for his first Major championship victory! Take a look at the video above and hear from Sergio Garcia himself about the state of his game and his Ryder Cup teammate, Rory McIlroy.
