Ashworth Golf is one of the most authentic golf brands in the industry, dedicating themselves to bringing modern style to the golf course. Over the 2014 PGA TOUR season, they have released commemorative golf shirts for each of the Major Championships (Masters, US Open, Open Championship) and today, they’ve released the final installment of the Major Series Golf Shirts for the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club.
The Masters, US Open and Open Championship Series shirts featured Fred Couples, Justin Rose, Retief Goosen, Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard respectively, the PGA Championship Commemorative Shirt features Paul Azinger’s 1993 victory. Each shirt incorporates elements specific to each player’s major tournament win as well as premium fabrics and unique contrast threads throughout the shirt. Each shirt in the series is individually numbered inside of the placket, with the total quantity produced matching the winning player’s total score.
During the 1993 PGA Championship, Paul Azinger won in a sudden death playoff at Inverness Club and is one of the most memorable Major Championships. The Azinger shirt is limited to 272 units to match his winning score at Inverness and features his signature embroidered inside the back neck, contrast threading and piping and the historic date of his major championship (8/15/93) stamped on the second placket button. Similar to the previous five golf shirts in the collection, Azinger’s specially-designed golf shirt features the unique Ashworth Majors Series patch on the right sleeve. The Paul Azinger commemorative Ashworth Majors Series golf shirt will be available exclusively at ashworthgolf.com at an MSRP of $100 USD.
