The art of putter making and putting itself is an art form. We’ve seen Masayuki Sasaya of Gold’s Factory in Japan talk about his putter philosophies and also gave a preview of the new Scotty Cameron Gallery in California. The Scotty Cameron Gallery is a place for all golfers to experience the Art of putting – the same methodology and technology used by Master Craftsman Scotty Cameron in fitting the best players in the world is now available to you!
The Scotty Cameron Gallery’s facility is located in Encinitas, California and in addition to the fitting facility, the boutique space also offers a retail store and a high-end product gallery. The Gallery is open for fittings from Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Each fitting is two hours long and costs $350 – if you buy a putter the day of the fitting, you’ll receive a $50 fitting credit. But keep in mind, these will be custom made putters for you – some of the putters sold through the gallery have ranged from $2,500 to $10,000! The price has not deterred Scotty Cameron fanatics though as more than 300 fittings have already been booked.
With the fitting experience, you can expect to have the proper weights, length and grip size measured for your putting stroke, similar to full bag custom fitting experiences. If you decide to purchase the putter you’re fitted for, Cameron ensures you receive the MOTO treatment, or “Made Only To Order.” – a stock putter with custom touches such as custom stamping and paintfills.
Cameron headcovers, grips, T-shirts, sports coats, ties and alligator shoes will also be available for sale, as well as putters returned from the various tours around the world, each with their own certificate of authenticity as to what tour it came from. Make sure to visit the Scotty Cameron Gallery website directly for more information on how to book your fitting and more!
