The 2014 US Open at Pinehurst Resort’s No. 2 course is upon us and like the other Major championships, we’re starting to see commemorative products, apparel and equipment. We’ve already seen The Masters edition of the Ashworth Major Series limited-edition golf shirts and for this week, Ashworth Golf has released the next phase for the US Open.

There will be two limited edition golf shirts through the Ashworth Major Series that is inspired by the US Open. The two shirts commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Retief Goosen’s US Open win in 2004 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Justin Rose’s win last year at Merion Golf Club. Similar to the first release of Fred Couple’s shirt for The Masters, the total shirts available will correspond directly with the player’s winning score – only 281 units of Rose’s and 276 units of Goosen’s shirts will be offered.

With Rose’s shirt, his signature is embroidered inside the back neck with white contrast piping on the chest and sleeve cuff. The date of his major championship victory is also stamped on the second placket button. Goosen’s commemorative shirt also features his embroidered signature and contrast colouring on a rib-knit colour in addition to the date of his major championship victory on the second placket button.

Both shirts have utilized premium fabrics and unique contrast threads to ensure a piece that uniquely represents each player. Justin Rose and Retief Goosen will wear their special-designed Ashworth Major Series golf shirts during first round play at the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2 course.
