It was a pretty awesome weekend of golf again! At The Memorial Tournament, we saw some of the biggest names in golf atop the leaderboard heading into the final round (Bubba Watson, Adam Scott) only to see another first time winner on the PGA Tour, 22-year-old Japanese sensation, Hideki Matsuyama.
On the LPGA side, Stacy Lewis would claim her 10th career LPGA Tour win with a six-shot victory at the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. Lewis shot a final-round 67 for a three-day total of 16-under par, one shot shy of the tournament record. With this win, she takes over the number 1 ranking in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, snapping Inbee Park’s 59-week streak at the top.
Also with this win, Lewis joins Sorenstam (1998, 2002, 2005), Juli Inkster (1986, 1988) and Betsy King (1987, 1995, 2001) as the only multiple winners in the tournament. Of course, there is the customary champion selfie after a win on the LPGA Tour, but make sure to watch the post-tournament interview above as well. Congrats, Stacy!
