This season, there have been numerous first time winners on the PGA Tour and the trend continued this week at the HP Byron Nelson Championship! In his 77th career PGA Tour event, Brendon Todd earned his first career PGA Tour victory and with it comes a 2-year exemption on the PGA Tour as well as a trip to the Masters next year!
2003 Masters champion and Canadian Mike Weir has struggled the last few years but played very well this week in Texas. Brendon Todd’s bogey free 66 in the final round was just too much to overcome as Mike finished second, his best finish since Pebble Beach in 2009. Although Mike Weir did not win the tournament, he did score himself a date. Read this great article from the Golf Channel to see what this date is all about!
