Much has been made of the Men’s and Women’s US Open in 2014 at the famed North Carolina course, Pinehurst No.2! There has been a major restoration by Coore & Crenshaw and with the US Open approximately a month away, many players have visited Pinehurst No.2 to familiarize themselves with the course!
Recently, 17 year old LPGA star Lydia Ko visited Pinehurst No.2 for three days and three rounds of golf at the US Open venue. Not only did Lydia Ko get to familiarize herself with the turtleback greens of Pinehurst but she also got a sense of the golf course in order to plot her strategy for the upcoming Major Championship! Lydia may also attend the Men’s US Open the week before the Women’s US Open, giving her further opportunities to scout the golf course as she prepares her third Open appearance.
