Cobra is one of the most colourful brands in golf and recently, they’ve announced a new driver for the 2014 season. We’ve already seen the Cobra BiO Cell and BiO Cell+ drivers, but now, they have released their new BiO Cell Pro, a 440cc driver with the lowest centre of gravity of any of its 2014 drivers.
This is the same driver that Rickie Fowler uses and uses an alloy called Venollum to lower the driver’s centre of gravity. With the low centre of gravity, the driver’s launch angle should increase and spin rates lowered for longer distances. It is made of titanium and with the smaller clubhead size, it should make the BiO Cell Pro more workable.
Similar to the other drivers, MyFly8 adjustablility is also used to change lofts from 7, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5 and 10 degrees with fade and draw options. A forged E9 BiO Cell face removes weight from the face to deliver a larger effective Sweet Zone and reposition it low and back to deliver faster ball speeds and increased distance. SmartPad technology also delivers a square face at address.
The Cobra BiO Cell Pro driver will be available in limited numbers starting May 1, 2014 for $399.
