The Taylormade SLDR driver is one of the best, if not the best, driver in golf right now. Aside from the driver, the entire SLDR line of equipment has been very successful including the SLDR fairway woods and hybrids, SLDR 430 driver and the recently introduced SLDR Mini Driver. So how do you improve on something that has already had so much success?
“The white crown with black button-back delivers a remarkable appearance at address. Many golfers fell in love with white when it came out in 2011, and now we are delivering a limited edition white SLDR with low and forward CG for more distance when you loft up.”
-Brian Bazzel, Sr Director of Metalwood Product Creation
The answer to that question, according to Taylormade, is to offer it in another colour – today, they officially announced the SLDR White driver. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a white crown SLDR, there have been many custom paint jobs that golfers have created, but it is the first one being offered directly from Taylormade. They have offered limited edition driver models before, including the R1 Black, but aside from the colour change, the specifications of the SLDR White driver are exactly the same as the original charcoal grey SLDR.
The SLDR White has the same classic shape with a low and forward center of gravity to promote high launch, fast ball speed and low spin for more distance. The 20-gram blue sliding weight is still there and you will still have to Loft Up. Loft can be adjusted with a 12-position loft sleeve and offered in 10°, 12°, 14° and 16°. The SLDR White comes with the same stock Fujikura Speeder 57 shaft. And most importantly, the price is the same as well – the SLDR White will retail for $399.99.
