Arnold Palmer on The Masters

The 2014 Masters concluded this past weekend and what a Sunday of competition we were treated to. Bubba Watson captured his second green jacket, a Major that is seen as the holy grail of golf. Immediately after The Masters, Golf Channel aired part 1 of their 3 part documentary titled “Arnie.

Arnold Palmer won his first major at Augusta and racked up 50 consecutive Masters appearances – he even played several rounds there with the President of the United States! He is part of “The Big Three” with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, and together, they began the 2014 Masters tournament with ceremonial tee shots. When you speak to them about The Masters though, they often speak of the magic that Augusta is able to produce on Sunday afternoons.

Augusta National is the only one of golf’s four major tournaments to take place at the same course every year. For one week of the year, golfers from all across the country and the world gather around Augusta, creating a certain mystique to the surface. The Masters was the tournament that Palmer coveted the most and he would win four Green Jackets throughout his career. This year marks the 50th anniversary of his fourth green jacket and also the last of his seven Major championship victories. Hear from The King above in this interview with CNN Living Golf!
