The biggest news that came out of the golf world today was that 14-time Major Champion Tiger Woods will not be playing in the Masters for the first time since 1995. This past Monday, Tiger had microdiscectomy surgery and it was performed by neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Rich in Park City, Utah. Although “intensive rehabilitation and soft-tissue treatment” will begin for Tiger in a week, full recovery can range from 3 to 6 months.
Sad to say I’m missing the Masters. Thanks to the fans for so many kind wishes. http://t.co/Ofbre9VHEL

Tiger’s goal is to return to competition this summer but missing all four Major Championships this year is a real possibility. Today, Golf Channel invited Dr. Ara Suppiah, sports medicine consultant to further explain Tiger’s surgery and recovery process. It’s a very detailed explanation and it’s definitely worth a listen!
