We are two weeks away from the Masters at Augusta which means there are only two tournaments left for players to tune up their games for the year’s first Major Championship! This week, the PGA Tour will visit TPC San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open. This will be the Tour’s first event in Texas this year, where native Texans have dominated the tournament, winning it 17 times!
Despite the lack of a name such as the Bear Trap or the Snake Pit, TPC San Antonio still has a lot of bite to the course. Kevin Na certainly found that out in 2011 when he shot a score of 16 on the par 4 9th hole! The Director of Golf at TPC San Antonio, Rob Nader, offers his insights on the course which includes the par 3 16th, where a pot bunker can be found in the middle of the green! In addition, Rob also points out the multi-tier greens on the course, something that’s perfect for preparing for Augusta!
