Minimalistic and street style golf shoes are quite the trend these days in the golf industry. We’ve seen lightweight, trendy golf shoes such as the Adidas Golf AdiZero One and G/FORE Gallivanter and more traditional designs such as the Adidas PURE 360 and FootJoy DNA.
During the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show, FootJoy announced not only the DNA golf shoe, but also their new FJ City collection. The FJ City collection offers street style shoes designed for golf that are fashion forward, allowing any golfer to look their best on the golf course.
The FJ City is offered in a “Blucher” model, a modern looking leather dress shoe, and a “Shield Tip” model, a wingtip designed golf shoe (which kind of reminds us of the Nike Lunar Clayton!) in several colourways. They can be bought with spikes on the sole, but are also offered under the FJ Professional Spikeless option.
The FJ City collection is designed with soft premium full grain leather, which offers outstanding waterproof comfort, breathability and durability (comes with a two year waterproof warranty). Laser Last is also used, which is a composite of thousands of digital scans of the FJ Laser Fitting System – it offers a full rounded toe character, standard fit across forefoot and instep, with a slightly narrow heel. The lightweight cushioned fit-bed provides golfers with extreme underfoot comfort and heel support by dampening shock while walking and Pulsar cleats by Softspikes offer ultimate turf gripping advantages. The FJ City collection will MSRP for USD $190 and will be available starting April 15, 2014.
