The life of a professional golfer is not easy. Many weeks of the year are spent on the road traveling to different tournaments around the world. It is rare for golfers to be able to go home and see their family, but there are windows during the season where they can go home and relax. For reigning FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai champion Henrik Stenson, he was able to spend two weeks during Christmas in Malmo, Sweden with his younger sister, Ulrika Stenson, to get away from it all!
Professional golfers have different ways of escaping the game – Dustin Johnson takes his boat out and goes fishing, Ryan Moore runs True Linkswear and Luke Donald and Ernie Els both have their wine collections. For Henrik Stenson, he spends his free time in the stables with horses. He’s not the only golfer who loves horses though – Gary Player shares this same passion as well!
Time away from the game is important to ensure that you recharge and peak at the right times of the year. Last year, Stenson had about a $20 million dollar year and even signed a new contract with Callaway Golf!
