Torrey Pines has been officially announced as the venue for the 2021 US Open Championship. And who can forget the drama that unfolded the last time (and also the first time) it held an US Open – in 2008, Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate battled through a Monday playoff with Woods eventually winning his 14th Major championship title. During that tournament, Woods played through a torn ACL and broken leg to finish one of the most dramatic and memorable championships of all time.
Tiger Woods has won 9 times professionally at Torrey Pines, most recently, the 2013 Farmers Insurance Open, but will be 45 years old when the US Open returns there. Take a look at the video above at some of the highlights from 2008! But until 2021, here are the next US Open venues until then:
2014: Pinehurst Resort, Course No. 2
2015: Chambers Bay
2016: Oakmont Country Club
2017: Erin Hills
2018: Shinnecock Hills Golf Club
