Arnold Palmer – a man who needs no introduction and who’s very name defines the sport of golf. Following The Masters, Golf Channel will air the documentary, Arnie, a three-night television event on Sunday, April 13 through Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Mr. Palmer is an American icon and this documentary aims to explore The King’s life on and off the golf course, his legacy and the influence and impacts he has had in golf and sports as part of popular culture.
The first episode, “Arnie & His Army”, recalls the people who influenced Palmer and instilled the values of integrity and human kindness that helped make him the man he has become both on and off the golf course, with special tribute to his parents Deacon and Doris. Episode 2, “Arnie & His Majors”, remembers Palmer’s competitive career and rivlary with Jack Nicklaus, his go-for-broke style and his ups and downs at golf’s major championships.
And the final episode, “Arnie & His Legacy”, delves into the legacy of Arnold Palmer and his influence on popular culture, which stretches way beyond the links. Maybe we’ll even get to see him fight off some Major Trophy stealing villains again! We can’t wait until this documentary airs – 34 more days until The Masters and 37 more days until Arnie, The Documentary!
