The 2014 WGC-Accenture Match Play concluded today at Dove Mountain in dramatic fashion and what a finish it was. During the last few days, the match play format produced many upsets and in the end, only Australia’s Jason Day and Victor Dubuisson of France were left standing.
In the final match, Jason was as much as 3-up on Victor in the match but with a clutch 12 foot putt on the 17th and a great up and down on the 18th, Victor managed to push the match to extra holes. The drama did not end there though as twice in the extra holes, Victor managed to save par from the cactus bushes at Dove Mountain.
However, 26 year old Jason Day proved too much for 23 year old Victor Dubuisson, winning the championship’s youngest final on the 23rd hole. Despite the result, Victor Dubuisson has definitely made a name for himself after this great match with Jason Day and has all but cement his spot on the 2014 Ryder Cup team at Gleneagles!
