We’ve featured many different professional athletes playing the sport of golf including NBA superstars such as Shaq, Stephen Curry and even Yao Ming! Hockey players are also big fans of golf including Dustin Johnson’s future father-in-law, Wayne Gretzky and NHL stars Teemu Selanne and Claude Giroux. Another hockey player who is also an excellent golfer is recent Team USA Olympic Hockey hero, TJ Oshie of the St. Louis Blues.
Oshie led Team USA to victory over Team Russia in a 3-2 shoot out victory over the weekend, attempting 6 of 8 shoot out attempts and scoring on 4 of those 6 attempts! In case you missed it, make sure to watch the video of the full shoot out below! But Oshie is not only skilled on the ice, he also carries a 2.4 handicap index and even played on his high school varsity golf team! Talk about multi-talented – he’s even had a hole in one! He recently sent in a video of his swing to Michael Breed and the Golf Fix and what a perfect time to analyze his swing! Watch the video above to see what tips Breed gives to Oshie and also what you can do to improve your swing!
We’ve also seen golfers play hockey as well – Jason Day is friends with a lot of the players on the Columbus Blue Jackets and has attended one of their practices. Being from Chicago, Luke Donald is also a huge hockey fan, cheering the Chicago Blackhawks on when he can and even took part in intermission activities on the ice!
