Maide Golf is a contemporary heritage golf apparel brand focusing on creating great fitting, stylish golf clothing that not only looks good, but performs and functions as well. The classic style of older golf generations is used as a theme and combined with modern technology for contemporary players. The brand was launched about a year ago (March 2013) by parent company Bonobos, the “king of khakis” and includes pants, shorts, polos, sweaters and t-shirts.
The spring 2014 collection was introduced at the PGA Show a couple of weeks ago featuring slim pants, tailored pieces and a new outerwear category. The inspiration for the styles in the spring 2014 collection came from the 1960s golden age of golf – vintage tropical prints and the collegiate sport look were modernized and blends the traditional fashion of this heritage game with great fit and modern fabrics.
As golfers are becoming more athletic, golf apparel is also evolving and providing a better fit. The entire collection provides a tailored look and one feature we really find useful is the gel waistband inset to keep shirts tucked throughout a golf swing – one of our biggest pet peeves is when we have to continuously adjust our shirts during our golf round! The brand’s trademark “M” is also stitched into the pieces and provide subtle details. These details are complimented with bold, solid colours including purples, oranges, whites and blues. The styling and designs of Maide Golf can definitely compliment another product we’ve featured earlier perfectly – the Jones Golf Bag collection!
