Perhaps the biggest attraction (literally!) of the 2014 PGA Show was Callaway Golf’s military-grade tank in the middle of their booth. This tank was brought in to promote their new Odyssey Tank putters, which provide more steadiness to your putting stroke with it’s counterbalance stability weighting. It comes in short options (34” and 36”) and long options (38” and 40”) and features specifically weighted components with a Tour preferred balance point for a higher MOI and greater stability through impact. The counterbalance weight (30g in long options or 40g in short options) plus a heaver head (400g) quiet the hands during your putting stroke for a smoother stroke through the golf ball.
Depending on the length of putter you choose (or are fitted to), different grips, shafts and counterweights can be used to achieve the “tour” balance point of Odyssey’s standard-length putters. Odyssey Tank putters are offered in two lines (regular and Versa) and in three different styles – the #1, #7 and 2-ball head shapes. The Versa line of putters feature High Contrast Alignment, a tour proven technology to deliver visual alignment through black and white high contrast. This helps to highlight proper face angle from address to impact and improve concentration.
