In a tournament where everyone assumed Tiger Woods would win for the ninth time at Torrey Pines, the Farmers Insurance Open turned out to be quite the tournament! Despite having success at Torrey Pines as recently as last year, Tiger did not get past Saturday as he chalked up his first career MDF (Made Cut, Did Not Finish)!
Even without Tiger and Phil Mickelson, who pulled out with back spasms, Sunday’s round at the Farmers Insurance Open was full of excitement as multiple players were packed together with a score of 8-under! In the end, it was Scott Stallings who fought off the likes of KJ Choi, Jason Day and Graham DeLaet to name a few, with a birdie on the last hole and earned his third PGA Tour victory! This all but ensures his spot at Augusta, which is less than three months away!
