Tiger Woods debuted his signature golf shoes TW’14 in last year’s Players’ Championship. Influenced by the Nike Free technology, the TW’14 is a light-weight minimalist golf shoe that provides increased flexibility and allows full athletic motion. If you recall, Nike stressed this point in its marketing for the TW’14, with Tiger playing golf but in the setting of other sports!
A new option in this year’s TW’14 is the option of customizing your shoes through NikeID! This option really allows the consumer to show their personality through various color combinations and the few designs we’ve seen out of Nike Japan looks great! To further promote the NikeID option, Nike held a contest where you could submit your designs for the TW’14 and Tiger himself will choose the winning design and sport it in a tournament early this year! Well, the result is out and Tiger announced the winning design today via Twitter! With Tiger officially committed to the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, perhaps we’ll see him wear the shoes there!
