It’s only the second day of 2014 and we’ve already seen new partnerships with two of golf’s biggest names – one a seasoned veteran and the other, a rising star! The Big Easy, Ernie Els, announced yesterday that he will be joining Adams Golf for the 2014 PGA Tour season, using a range of products from Adams Golf (and most likely, Taylormade) and will showcase the brand’s logo on his bag and headwear.
Graham DeLaet, the pride of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, has also announced his new partnership with PUMA Golf and will start the 2014 season at the Farmers Insurance Open fully suited in PUMA Golf apparel, accessories and headwear, but will not switch to the Cobra line of equipment – he’ll continue playing Titleist. His on-course style has always been bright and colourful with a lot of energy, so this new signing with PUMA Golf seems to be the perfect fit! DeLaet had been with Canadian-based Sligo Wear Inc. for the past two years, but will now join Rickie Fowler, Jonas Blixt and Ian Poulter on the PUMA Golf team. As the highest ranked Canadian golfer and perhaps a tribute to his Canadian roots, DeLaet will be wearing red and white on Sunday’s on the PGA Tour.
DeLaet is coming off a breakthrough season on the PGA Tour which included a second place finish at The Barclays and a pair of third place results at the Travelers Championship and Deutsche Bank Championship. He earned his first Presidents Cup selection where he starred for the International side and will be making his first Masters start later this spring. Good luck in 2014, Graham!
