Happy Birthday, Tiger! It was Tiger Woods’ 38th birthday yesterday (as well as Lebron James’ 29th!) and to celebrate, the USGA looks back at the first of his three US Open victories. In case you don’t remember, it was back in 2000 at Pebble Beach where Tiger took the field by storm with a 15 shot victory! Always worth a look – watch the video above!
Although his last US Open victory (and last Major championship win) was in 2008 at Torrey Pines, he is coming off a 5 win season and will hopefully breakthrough his Major championship drought in 2014! The 2014 US Open will be held at Pinehurst No. 2, where Tiger has finished 3rd and 2nd – perhaps he is trending upwards towards a victory this year! Some players, such as Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk, have already scouted the course and are preparing for the tournament!
