We’ve gone behind the scenes and seen the famous Grain Flow Forging process by Mizuno Golf at their factory in Japan. That’s where Mizuno Golf produces all of the clubheads for their iron sets. In this video by Mark Crossfield, the AskGolfGuru, visits the Mizuno European assembly line in Cumbernauld, Scotland and follows the production of a set of Mizuno MP-54 irons!
The clubheads are forged in Japan and shipped to Europe to be assembled here for a player’s custom fit order. Once the clubheads arrive, they are prepped and cleaned for building. Lofts and lies are checked to ensure everything fits a customer’s specific order. Lazer lines help for alignment of grip installations, then swing weights are checked and built to a customer’s preferred swing weight. The grips and shafts are then put into a machine that glues the clubhead and shaft together and ensures that everything is perfectly square from the clubhead to the grip. Finally, the clubs are inspected for quality control before being boxed and sent to the customer! Very interesting and it just shows the quality that comes with a set of Mizuno Golf irons!
