A few weeks ago, Golfing World caught up with former world number one Martin Kaymer to discuss his 2013 season. It has been a frustrating year for Martin as he was quite consistent with his game however, he did not put himself in a position to win any tournament. In the newest player profile update, we find out the reason for Martin’s struggle and what he expects of himself in the upcoming season!
Martin Kaymer was the 2010 PGA Champion and was number one in the world rankings at the 2011 Masters. After leaving Augusta though, Martin was not satisfied with his game as he felt he did not have enough shots in his arsenal. To address this, Martin went through a swing change that took a lot longer to ingrain than he expected. It has been more than two years since he won the last of his ten European Tour titles but Martin is feeling more comfortable with his new swing! The 2014 season will be a season where Martin will finally feel comfortable with his swing changes and can attack the golf course. We are excited to see if Martin Kaymer can return to form that made him a Major champion and the number one player in the world!
