Golfing World catches up with Butch Harmon, a golfing coach guru who comes from a family that lives and breathes golf. Butch’s father won The Masters in 1948 and his brothers are all golf professionals, also working within the golf industry. In this interview, Harmon speaks about his involvement in golf and his business and why he doesn’t open more schools world wide. He even gives us some very wise tips and lessons in this interview and sheds some light on the state of golf.
Perhaps his most high profile professional client is Phil Mickelson, the 2013 Open Champion, but Harmon has worked with some of golf’s best including Dustin Johnson, Ernie Els, Adam Scott and of course, Tiger Woods, the “greatest player he’s ever seen.” Although he does work with PGA Tour professionals, 75% of his time is spent working with the average everyday player and you can really feel the passion he has for the sport of golf!
