Inside the Nike Oven

Nike Oven

Last week, Nike Golf held their golf innovation event in their headquarters in Oregon. In this event, Nike introduced their new golf lineup for 2014, including apparel, equipment and the new Speedlock RZN Core Technology and RZN Golf Balls! Among those invited to the golf innovation event was a team from Business Insider, who also had the opportunity to take a look at Nike’s second R&D center for golf, the Oven!

Nike’s line of RZN golf balls is based on the material resin, which is used in the core of the golf balls instead of rubber. Because resin is a lighter material than rubber, this allows Nike to make the material around the ball heavier, which promotes more stability and distance for the golf ball. As you can see from the pictures, Nike spends a lot of time in their R&D for their next generation of golf balls. Golf balls from other companies can even be seen in their lab as they are used to compare to their own products. Early feedback of the new RZN golf ball has been positive and we are looking forward to giving Nike’s new golf balls a try when they get released!
