The World Cup of Golf took place at Royal Melbourne GC in Australia this past weekend. It has been a great run of golf for Australia the past few weeks as the first ever Australian to win the Masters, Adam Scott, won in back to back weeks at the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Masters!
Despite playing with a heavy heart after losing eight relatives in the devastating November 9 typhoon in the Philippines, fellow Australian Jason Day played in the World Cup of Golf and ended up winning the tournament with a score of 10-under total of 274! Because the World Cup of Golf embraced the Olympic format ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games, there was a team title up for grabs and Australia sealed the deal as well, with a combined score of 551, between Jason Day (274) and Adam Scott (277)! It’s definitely a good time for Australian golf right now!
