Course of the Week: Glasgow Hills Golf Club

glasgow-hills-1

Our Course of the Week feature keeps us in the province of Prince Edward Island, but you may feel as if you are in Glasgow once on the course! Glasglow Hills Resort and Golf Club is located in beautiful New Glasgow and opened in 2001. It’s only 25 minutes from Charlottetown, Summerside and the Confederation Bridge. The course has received a Golf Digest Four Star rating under “Best Places to Play” and was rated in the top 70 courses in Canada by readers of the Globe and Mail – not bad!

Like most golf courses we’ve featured in Prince Edward Island, Glasgow Hills has been built into it’s environment and feels as if it’s been there forever. Throughout the course, you’ll see backdrops of the Atlantic Ocean, the River Clyde, the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the rolling country side – it definitely makes it difficult to concentrate of golf! The greens also pose a challenge because of their speed and undulation. Even with the difficulty of the course though, it is accessible to golfers of all levels with 4 different tees to play from, ranging in yardage from 5236 yards to 6915 yards. And the best part is all golfers receive free mussels from PEI Aqua Farms after your round in the restaurant!
