Sitting Down with Peter Uihlein

Peter Uihlein has had a pretty distinguished golf career until now. In 2010, he won the US Amateur at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington – the course will also host the 2015 US Open! The same year, Uihlein won the Mark H. McCormack Medal for being the Number 1 ranked Amateur golfer in the world and also won the Ben Hogan Award for being the best collegiate golfer in the United States. He would turn professional in December of 2011.

Since then, Uihlein has been playing on the European Tour and won his first event as a professional at the Madeira Islands Open in Portugal in May of 2013. He was close to his second victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, losing in a playoff to David Howell of England. He has added to his golfing resume though, as Uihlein has been named the European Tour’s Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the year and placed 14th in the Race to Dubai! Golfer’s are becoming much more athletic in the modern era and it shows with the professionals training like athletes in the gym! Golf is definitely a sport!
