Tiger Woods Connects Europe and Asia

The world of golf spent the past couple of weeks hosting clinics and playing tournaments in Asia. Tournaments were played in South Korea for the Kolon Korea Open, Shanghai for the BMW Masters and WGC-HSBC Champions, Malaysia for the CIMB Classic and Haikou for The Match at Mission Hills between Tiger and Rory.

The European Tour has now landed in Turkey for the third tournament, the Turkish Airlines Open, of their Final Series in the Race to Dubai. To promote the tournament, the organizers and Tiger Woods set up quite an event! Tiger Woods ended up hitting a golf ball from one continent to another, on the Bosphorus Bridge, where the continents of Europe and Asia are connected.

It was a pretty outrageous publicity event as it caused local residents a lot of inconvenience as they tried to cross the bridge in the middle of the afternoon. One side of the bridge was completely closed during one of the busiest times of the day for traffic, delays were up to 20 minutes… which means he was hitting a golf ball while there was still moving traffic in the opposite lanes! Take a look at the video above!
